well, they're here. those mid-summer days that never seem to end. hah. right. would someone tell those days that they've lied to me? it seems like there just isn't enough time these days to get everything done that i'd like to get done. i'd like to be spending more time with students and young adults than in my office, but as it seems, that just isn't going to happen right now.
sunday evening i returned from a weekend away with a group of young adults and found the east basement of our church (where i happen to work out of) flooded with water. apparently it really does rain up here in gp. anywho, tuesday was lost due to moving all of my stuff from the basement to the shed (storage until the basement is refinished). wednesday and thursday were spent on the phones and looking for solutions to getting the basement refinished. today, i'm meeting with a couple of guys about quotes for carpeting and that.
if i'm lucky i can start working on the next project which is a camping retreat for young adults. somewhere in there i have to plan for the fall, read two books, move all my stuff back downstairs, and still meet with people and recruit my team for the next ministry year.
there's just not enough time...
"Stay where you are. Find your own Calcutta. Find the sick, the suffering and the lonely right there where you are -- in your own homes and in your own families, in your workplaces and in your schools. ... You can find Calcutta all over the world, if you have the eyes to see. Everywhere, wherever you go, you find people who are unwanted, unloved, uncared for, just rejected by society -- completely forgotten, completely left alone." - Mother Teresa
