bc faced off against montreal today in the big game. the cfl crowned the lions the new champs this evening. to be honest, the game was a bit of a let-down. the allouettes never really showed up. i guess that's what happens when you have a coach who has appeared in 8 grey cups, versus a coach that has appeared in 8 games. we had a great time at youth group though. nothing makes a night complete like football, xbox, disney movies, and lots of food.
our church congregation voted today on whether or not we would be relocating our building. fortunately it was quite the margin of decision. the congregation voted in favor of relocation by about 87%. the margin is almost a bigger deal than what they decided for. if the margin is 50-50 or 60-40, then it means that we've got a lot of work to do in terms of communicating unity in the body. however, this vote is a statement of the unity of our congregation. i'm very proud to be part of a congregation that, as a whole, has basically spoken in one clear voice about where they see God leading us as a community.
now the real work begins, and the process of building type, style, paint, carpet, and coat hangers begins. please be praying for our community as this process gets under way.
"Stay where you are. Find your own Calcutta. Find the sick, the suffering and the lonely right there where you are -- in your own homes and in your own families, in your workplaces and in your schools. ... You can find Calcutta all over the world, if you have the eyes to see. Everywhere, wherever you go, you find people who are unwanted, unloved, uncared for, just rejected by society -- completely forgotten, completely left alone." - Mother Teresa
