that pretty well sums it up. last night was a great time of worship. christmas carols done a little rockier than normal surrounded by good friends and great community. and i'm not just saying that because i played in the band. my friend barry did a great job of putting together a christmas eve service that explained some of the traditions of christmas extremely well. my wife and son and i also had the privilege of doing an advent reading. hopefully its not the last thing we get to lead people in as a family. it was also great connecting with friends that we haven't seen for quite a while, like kase, chantal, rob & genelle, and others.
this morning we woke up, and grayson was spoiled by the family. both sides of grand-parents gave him gifts that he's already enjoying. he's now got a little quad that he can ride around on and a little tykes mechanics' work bench so he can fix things after he breaks them. he was also the recipient of some great clothes, including pyjamas with the feet in them. kinda makes me wish i was his age, just so i could wear pyjamas like that.
all in all it was a good day. we had lots of fun, and we rested. thank God for rest. tomorrow we're actually going to try and brave the crowds to do some shopping (so long rest). its probably the best chance we'll get to find some real savings on a few needed items for our house, like a few blankets and a shower curtain.
on the final note, this year we get to welcome a new sister into our family. my brother is getting married to his girlfriend (now fiancee) allison. they're a good match, and she keeps him in line pretty well. plus my mom likes her, she'll fit in just fine.
